Responsibilities

  • Community Leadership:  

    • Lead the QA community by driving process improvements, innovative testing solutions, and the adoption of best practices across the studio.  

    • Mentor and support QA testers at all levels, fostering their professional growth and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.  

    • Conduct performance reviews and identify opportunities for advancement within the QA community.  

    • Advocate for QA community goals in studio-wide discussions, aligning quality assurance strategies with game and business objectives.  

    • Balance the immediate demands of game team testing with long-term improvements for the QA community.  

  • Technical Community Contributions:  

    • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing. 

    • Utilize scripting languages and automation tools (e.g., Typescript, JavaScript, Selenium, Appium, Playwright, or similar) to increase test efficiency. 

    • Implement CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated tests into the development workflow. 

    • Analyze testing metrics to identify gaps in coverage or inefficiencies and implement solutions.   

    • Collaborate with game teams to embed quality-first principles into development processes, ensuring exacting standards are maintained from concept to release.

  • Embedded QA Test Engineer Responsibilities:  

    • Own the quality assurance process within the game development team, designing and executing comprehensive test plans for new and existing features. 

    • Identify and mitigate risks early by collaborating with game designers, engineers, and project managers to ensure feature implementation quality and optimized test coverage, including edge case testing. 

    • Balance manual and automated testing, leveraging exploratory testing while developing automation strategies for increasing efficiency. 

    • Advocate for the player experience, ensuring slot math, gameplay mechanics, and UI/UX function as intended and ensure high-quality standards. 

    • Lead root cause analysis, partnering with developers to triage issues and improve debugging processes for faster resolution across multiple game releases. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 3 years in game development, ideally within slot games, real-money gaming, or mobile game testing possessing both strong analytical and attention to details skillsets. 

  • Expertise in manual and automated testing for mobile games, including bug tracking, test case design, exploratory testing, and automation frameworks for desktops, iOS, and Android. 

  • Proven ability to drive automation adoption, developing test strategies that balance efficiency, scalability, and maintainability. 

  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven record of accomplishment of mentoring QA team members and driving process improvements. 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines while managing competing priorities.
